Senior Product Developer
Bring MAAP's premium apparel to life by transforming innovative designs into production-ready products through technical expertise, collaboration, and a passion for performance, quality, and craftsmanship.

MAAP was born in a city with an unhealthy obsession with sport, style and coffee. Today, we continue to blur the space between performance, aesthetics and culture - creating technical apparel for riders who demand the highest standard of product experience.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Developer to join our Product team at MAAP HQ in Port Melbourne. This is a newly created role, designed to strengthen how we bring our seasonal apparel ranges to life - from design handover and technical development through to production readiness.

Working closely with our Lead Designer, this role sits at the centre of the product creation process, ensuring each garment is technically resolved, commercially viable and delivered in line with the seasonal critical path.

The Role

As Senior Product Developer, you will manage product development across apparel categories, translating design intent into accurate technical outcomes across construction, fit, artwork application, BOMs and supplier execution.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage product development activities from roadmap design handover and tech packing through to production readiness.
  • Partner closely with the Lead Designer to execute and deliver seasonal apparel categories.
  • Finalise technical sketches, construction details, BOMs and artwork implementation.
  • Manage the bulk development process with factories, suppliers, Garment Technicians, QA and Production teams.
  • Coordinate and drive sample reviews, fittings and product validation throughout development.
  • Work collaboratively with Garment Technicians and the Lead Designer on construction refinement, fit improvements and finishing solutions.
  • Identify development risks, technical issues and timeline impacts, escalating where required.
  • Maintain accurate PLM data, technical files, BOMs and artwork records throughout the development process.
  • Manage seasonal artwork implementation, including sizing, scaling and technical application requirements.
  • Ensure all development milestones are achieved in line with the critical path and seasonal calendar.

About You

You are an experienced apparel product developer with strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage complex development timelines across multiple seasonal ranges.

You’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in apparel product development, ideally within performance, technical, sportswear or premium apparel.
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, fabrication, trims, BOMs, tech packs and production processes.
  • Experience working directly with factories, suppliers and cross-functional product teams.
  • High attention to detail and confidence managing PLM systems, technical files and development milestones.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to identify risks early and drive practical, commercially sound solutions.
  • A collaborative, organised and detail-led approach to product development.

Success in this role will be measured by on-time delivery of seasonal development milestones, the accuracy of technical files and BOMs, sample approval efficiency, factory readiness and the quality of cross-functional communication.

This is an opportunity to step into a newly created role with real impact - helping shape the way MAAP develops and delivers product across seasonal apparel ranges.
