Martijn van Strien is from Rotterdam, Netherlands and works as a freelance videographer, creating stories about cycling, travelling between fixed gear and gravel races and has a growing channel on YouTube. Martijn races with Botje Racing, a Dutch-based team of 6 riders who’s focus is mainly fixed crit series in Europe and the USA. A true believer in training indoors, Martijn has upped his training sessions and has offered up his current training plan to follow.
Raylyn Nuss resides in Lake Saint Louis, Missouri and races in the MAAP | MINI U.S. Cyclocross Program, racing elite cyclocross across America and lined up for two World Cup races in Belgium late last year. After a successful 19/20 season, Raylyn was gearing up for some mixed terrain events in her offseason, before preparing for the next cyclocross season. A full-time analytical development scientist, she’s always having to find a balance between working, training and racing, now even more so.
Garry Millburn races for the MAAP Cannondale CX team, having won the Australian CX National Series last season. Not one to rest during the offseason, Garry has been racing MTBs over summer and was looking forward to starting the next CX season in just a few months, but it's looking like the season will not even start this year. Juggling his work as a financial advisor and training is getting tough, but being based in Bright, in Victoria’s High Country he has a plethora of terrain on his doorstep to train on before further restrictions are put in place.
Stacey Riedel is from Adelaide, South Australia and is a member of the MAAP Cannondale CX team, racing the national cyclocross season each year, as well as a handful of crits over summer. She balances training, racing and travel with working full time as a teacher. We caught up with Stacey to see what changes she's made in the current climate.
Jacques Sauvagnargues is from Chipping Norton in the Cotswolds, UK and races with TRINITY RACING on the road, a leading U23 development team and a proven pathway to the pro peloton. Having joined some of the MAAP crew recently for a photoshoot in Gran Canaria, an island off the coast of Morocco. Getting back to his home in Nice, France afterwards wasn’t exactly easy, so he’s taken the opportunity to head back to the UK.
David is a member of InForm TM Insight MAKE, a leading Australian NRS team with a strong list of U19, U23 and seasoned riders. His next goals were meant to be the Tour of Brisbane and the Oceana Championships, but racing is currently on hold. He's hoping to defend his U23 NRS Leader's Jersey from the first round of the season, but until racing resumes he's looking for ways to stay motivated, adapting his training and focussing on his Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science studies at university.
