22 year old James Cummings is one of the latest additions to the MAAP/Ritte team. James spent 2015 racing the National Road Series with African Wildlife Safaris, but when the team disbanded late in 2015 James was left without a ride. James had already seen and heard plenty about MAAP so there was an instant connection. "Coming from Melbourne I’ve seen the MAAP brand grow and I’ve always loved their designs. As soon as I saw they had a team I knew it was something I wanted to be apart of!"
James has just competed in the Mitchelton Bay Cycling Classic for the second year, a series that attracts several World Tour Pro’s. James never looked out of place in the field "Bay Crits are always incredibly hard races with each day having its own challenges and when you add in the best riders in Australia and the world, the level of racing is obviously a level above anything else.”
James is a fully qualified swim instructor, and has ambitions to complete an Ironman in 2017, but the short term focus is bike racing with the MAAP/Ritte team and finishing his commerce degree. James has a great reputation in the elite racing scene for being an outstanding guy, genuine and the type of person others like to be around. He’s a natural fit for MAAP/Ritte and helps solidify that competitive edge to the team.
